What Is Opinion Outpost UK? – 100% Utter Waste of Time!

What is Opinion Outpost UK? Is Opinion Outpost UK worth your time?

I have seen many people praise this platform but also a lot of complaints!

After personally trying it, I would like to share my opinion with you, so that you can decide whether signing up to Opinion Outpost UK is worth it.

Make sure you read this Opinion Outpost UK review until the end, so that you can get the full picture of this platform, as well as my personal recommendations 🙂

What Is Opinion Outpost UK?

Opinion Outpost
is a free survey platform available in the UK, US and Canada.

Taking a survey allows users to make some quick cash, while businesses adapt and grow according to the answers received.

The more these businesses know about what customers think, the easier it is for them to improve and adapt what they supply.

The website is owned by Survey Sampling International (SSI) which is a global sampling and survey company.

Opinion Outpost has been around for more than a decade.

How many points do you get per survey?

The amount of points you can expect to receive per survey, ranges between 5 to 50 points. 1 point = £0.05.

Points do not expire but if you were to delete your account, those points will be gone forever and you won’t be able to claim them back!

The average length of a survey is 10-15 minutes.

Imagine you spend 1 hour on Opinion Outpost UK and manage to complete 4 surveys. If each survey is worth 5 points, then you would have accumulated 20 points in total.

That is £1 for 1 hour of your time! You are better off finding a job that pays you minimum wage…

Furthermore, you have to have at least 50 points in your account, in order for you to redeem cash!

How can you redeem your points?

There are quite a few options in terms of redeeming your points:

  • E-vouchers – Adidas, Ask Italian, Legoland, M&S, Shoe Zone and more, for a total of 132 stores to choose from. These vouchers are usually emailed within 48 hours. You need at least 200 points to redeem.
  • Physical Gift Vouchers – Same stores and rules as above, but you will be sent a physical card instead.
  • PayPal Cash – Set up a PayPal account and turn points into cash. A minimum of 50 points (£2.50) is needed.
  • Prize Draw Entries – Opinion Outpost UK have a quarterly draw where they give away £5,000. You get one draw entry per each survey you complete, but you can also use your points to redeem additional entries. You need 1 point for 1 entry.
  • Amazon Gift Certificates – Turn your points into an Amazon gift voucher, which will be sent to you via email. Minimum amount of points needed to claim is 50.
  • App Store & ITunes – Redeem a £10.00 card to use with iTunes Store, the App Store, the iBookstore, or the Mac App Store. 200 points are needed in this case.

What’s the user experience like?

I tried Opinion Outpost UK for about 30 minutes and gave up!

I did not even bother reaching 50 points to get some cash.

When you first sign up, you get asked to complete your profile. This is about answering tons of questions about you, including personal ones such as “how many children do you have” or “How much do you earn”.

Once all that is done, you click on “Take Survey” to start taking the first survey. Seems easy, right?

Not at all…

Despite having answered loads of questions about yourself, you get asked new questions prior to starting the actual survey.

So you do not get to choose the survey you want to take. They present you with a suitable survey, only after you have answered a questionnaire that takes around 3 minutes to complete.

I was even asked to complete a survey that required me to install an app on my device… NO, THANKS!

One major problem is that they won’t even tell you how many points the survey is worth, so you might end up spending 15 minutes doing a survey that is only worth 5 points (£0.25).

This is not a one-off by the way. There is always a questionnaire to fill in prior to each and every survey!

I read that the US version sends you surveys via email, so I thought I would wait a few hours and see if the UK version does the same.

I checked my inbox after some time and there was an email saying: “We need your input today to improve the products of tomorrow. Take our survey below and have your say”.

PS: I used a fake email address and name to try Opinion Outpost UK out… You can do this with Temp mail.

Now, if you say “take our survey below”, then it sounds to me that you have already selected a survey for me and that by clicking on the button below, I will start the survey straight away…

I was wrong… Once again I had to answer tons of questions in order for them to send me the right survey.

A complete waste of time!

At least the email made it clear that the survey was worth 5 points only…

Do Opinion Outpost UK always pay out?

As I said, the user experience was so frustrating, that I did not even get a chance to test the pay out process.

I went to look at Trustpilot though and I can see that there are mixed opinions.

Some people have said they have never had any issues with Opinion Outpost UK, others have complained about their account being shut down after accumulating quite a few points.

Here is one of the reviews taken from Trustpilot:

Conclusion: Don’t waste time and go with this alternative platforms!

I am personally not a fan of taking surveys in general but I found Opinion Outpost UK very poor in terms of user experience and a big waste of time when it comes to how many points you can get per survey.

I do believe that making pocket money online is not worth it and that one could use their time to build their own online business.

If you still want to find a better way to earn pocket money, then I recommend you check out my review of OhMyDosh!, which is a platform that allows you to make pocket money in many different ways.

For example in the screenshot below, you can see this offer where if you purchase 10 scratch cards for 99p, you get a reward of £4.50 cash. No points bulls**t!

Who knows, you might even get winning scratch cards on top of it 😉

Read my OhMyDosh! review here: Is OhMyDosh a Scam? Incredible, She Made £30 in 30 Minutes!

Again, in my opinion, I feel like trying to make pocket money (with any program) is a waste of time.

This is why I recommend you think about starting your own blog and learn how to monetise it.

Doing things right will lead you to eventually gain passive income and even quit your job!

  1. Oh trust me I have used Opinion post before. It is definitely not a scam but at the same time it is not worth the time. I never earned anything from it. I wasted a lot of time trying this platform. I wish I had seen this article before started using this platform. I’m happy that you are sharing about this with others.

    Thank you for sharing this.

  2. I have tried making money on surveys, time and time again. It is kind of fun, but you can get lost and spend way too much time doing this and receive very little from it.

Why do you think OhMyDosh! is so different. What do they do differently to allow for success? I am very curious.

Thanks for writing the review and good luck!

  3. Hi Cristina

I certainly will not be joining Opinion Outpost UK! As you say, it certainly does sound like a complete waste of time.

I have looked at survey sites in the past, and quickly decided that they simply were not worth the time and effort! I would agree with you that by far he best way to earn money online is to have your own blogging website and learn all about Affiliate marketing at the brilliant Wealthy Affiliate platform.

Very many thanks for this information.

    Chrissie 🙂

    1. Thank you Chrissie 🙂

I find surveys a real waste of time and very boring lol

On the other hand, I am loving blogging!

How is it going at Wealthy Affiliate?

      Many thanks,

      Cristina

  4. Interesting. I’m also not a fan of online surveys for income. Usually if something seems to good to be true, it is. This post is a great way to inform people that they need to work and work hard to earn “easy” money. Thanks for the post.

    1. Indeed Ray.

There is too much misinformation about making money online out there.

More people should know that making money online is not an overnight thing or they will just be deluded.

      Thank you for reading!

      Cristina

  5. Hi Cristina.
I totally agree with your comments and I won’t lose my time with Opinion Outpost UK. Your suggestion to have your own blog and monetize it instead make more sense to me. But I appreciated your Wealthy Affiliate review.
